The successful completion of the 2008 Beijing Olympics is testimony to the stellar growth of China. The world event also facilitates the mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world. The 2009 global financial crisis has witnessed China's transformation into being now the world's third largest economy in the world. China has taken up a more important role in international affairs and is gradually integrating into the global whole. With a vast population of 1.3 billion people, China contributes to the world of the new century not only materially, but is also duty-bound to participate more significantly in arenas of culture, civilisation and global governance.
We Chinese rely on education to understand our own people and the world we are living in, and learn to sustain co-existence, co-prosperity and co-sharing among people, between humankind and nature, and between humankind and all other species. We rely on education to nurture a new generation of confident, knowledgeable and humble Chinese who possess a cosmic vision, international mindedness and a humanistic heart to lead China to the forefront of world civilisations.
We and our team from Hong Kong come to open the Yew Wah series of schools on Mainland China, synergising local and overseas educational expertise in order to bring quality international education to the children of China. We believe it is a timely response to the demands of the 21st century. It is also our endeavour to nurture future leaders for the civilisation and global governance of a new age and the sustainable growth of the global village.
