Mission and Philosophy
Yew Wah's educational philosophy stems from the view of the 21st century as a global village in which China willplay a major role. Yew Wah strives to unite the best elements of Eastern and Western traditions and practices. We focus on Chinese and English learning, character formation, holistic development and lifelong study in an international, multicultural environment. We define international education by the content and process of education that leads our students to an inner transformation whereby they are both Eastern and Western.
Yew Wah focuses on whole person education which allows students to develop their potential to the fullest, embrace their self-identity and establish harmonious relationship with the world. Yew Wah believes in the function of education of enhancing human qualities in an all-round way, instead of mere transmission of knowledge and skills. Education should be able to bring about comprehensive development of a person's spiritual and physical aspects and one's value system, and to lay a solid foundation for life-long learning so as to respond to challenges in the global environment in the 21st Century.
Yew Wah is committed to educating students with the formation of a global view, the growth of an inquiring mind and creativity, and the development of a sense of personal responsibility for the social welfare of all. With its home in China, the Yew Wah International Education Foundation orientates itself towards the world with a global concern.
